The next few weeks were taken up with a search for a management team to back up Brad Rogers.	Несколько недель прошли в хлопотах: Дэвид, Брэд и Кейт подбирали менеджеров в помощь Брэду.

And even as he said it, he felt a pang of guilt because he was deserting Kate.	И, сказав это, ощутил укоры совести из-за того, что бросает Кейт.
They continued on with the list of names. By the end of the Month, they had narrowed the choice to four men to work with Brad Rogers.	Споры продолжались, и к концу месяца из всего списка осталось четыре фамилии.
All of them were working abroad, and they were sent for so that they could be interviewed.	Все эти люди работали за границей, так что пришлось их вызывать и вести переговоры.

Kate looked at bis expression and stood up in alarm.	Взглянув на него, Кейт в тревоге вскочила.

"I-I-" He sank into a chair. "Something has happened."	- Я... я... - Он рухнул в кресло. - Произошло что-то странное.
Kate was out from behind the desk and by his side in an instant.	Кейт в мгновение ока очутилась рядом с ним:
"Tell me!"	- Объясни, в чем дело?
"I just got a letter from Tim O'Neil.	- Только что получил письмо от Тима О'Нила.
He's sold the business."	Он продал патент.
"What do you mean?"	- Как это?!
"Exactly what I said.	- Вот так.
