Sola seemed puzzled herself (Сола сама казалась озадаченной), as though such strange actions on the part of two humans (как будто такие странные поступки со стороны двух человеческих существ) were quite beyond her (были совершенно вне ее /понимания/; beyond — выше, вне), as indeed they were, poor child (и так оно на самом деле и было, бедное дитя).
